Bridge Construction Report — Braelyn Bridge Chest Location

“A Bridge Construction Report” is a short side quest from the Carpenter: as his trademark, he hid a treasure chest inside Braelyn Bridge when he built it, and he wants you to find it. Here is exactly where it is.

Where exactly is the chest?

At the base of the middle pillar of Braelyn Bridge, on the north side. You will not see a chest when you arrive — you will see a mound of rubble piled against the pillar.

How do you open it?

1. Equip your pickaxe (craft one early — mining nodes are everywhere)
2. Attack the rubble mound until it breaks apart
3. This reveals a small alcove built into the base of the pillar with the chest inside
4. Open it — the quest completes immediately

What is inside the chest?

Nothing quest-critical — typically a weapon or crafting material appropriate to your progress. The real reward is the quest completion itself (XP and the Carpenter’s goodwill).

Why do players struggle with this quest?

Two reasons, both called out by the community:

• The chest is hidden behind destructible rubble, and nothing in the quest text tells you the environment is breakable — if you have not learned that pickaxes destroy rubble piles, you will stare at the pillar forever
• The marker points at the whole bridge; only the middle pillar counts, and only its north side has the rubble

When should you do this quest?

Any time after the Carpenter is rescued and set up at your base — it is a quick detour if you are already crossing Braelyn Bridge toward the Hunter Vault or the northeast. Frequently asked questions

I broke the rubble but there is no chest? Make sure you are at the middle pillar’s north side — the other pillars look similar. The alcove is small; circle the pillar base.

Does the quest reward anything special? No unique item — it is a short fetch-style quest for XP and resources.

Is the chest the same in 1.0? The quest structure is unchanged in 1.0; loot tables may vary by progression as with all chests.
