Enshrouded 1.0 Mage Build — Skill Order, Stats & Gear

A complete Enshrouded 1.0 mage build: Battlemage into Wizard and Trickster, exact skill order, Intelligence priority, and gear through endgame.

Mage is one of the strongest and most forgiving ways to play Enshrouded 1.0 — wands attack for free, Intelligence scales everything at once, and the reworked tree plus nine new spells made casters even better. This build is adapted from the most established community mage guides, updated for 1.0’s changes.

What is the core idea of this build?

Your wand is your engine — its basic attacks cost no mana, scale with Intelligence, and feed the mana-recovery and crit nodes in your trees. Your staff and spells are your burst, and your shield is your defense. You fight at mid-range: Blink away from pressure, wand down targets, and dump spells into grouped or staggered enemies.

Which skill trees do you take?

  1. Hub first: Double Jump, Blink, Updraft (mobility is survivability)
  2. Battlemage: Intelligence nodes, Wand Specialization/Wand Mastery, Unity (mana recovery on wand hits), Blink upgrades
  3. Wizard: fire and frost multipliers (Arsonist, Pyromaniac, Iceman, Sub Zero), crit chain (Wizard, Chain Hit, Mass Destruction), Quick Charge
  4. Trickster: Terror (stun on spell crit) and Arcane Concentration
  5. Healer: Water Aura and Waters of Life for passive sustain

What is the exact leveling order?

A proven point order looks like this (adjust to taste as 1.0 node positions settle):

Order Skill Tree Why
1 Double Jump Hub Positioning and safety
2 Blink Hub/Battlemage Teleport dodge — your defense
3-4 Intelligence ×2 Battlemage 5% magic damage per point
5 Wand Specialization Battlemage Core damage
6 Unity Battlemage Mana back on wand attacks
7 Water Aura Healer Passive healing aura
8+ Fire/frost multipliers Wizard Damage scaling
Mid Chain Hit / Mass Destruction Wizard Free AoE on crits
Late Terror Trickster 4-second stuns on spell crit

By endgame (level 50, all roots and wells cleared) you will have Battlemage and Wizard substantially filled, with Healer and Trickster support.

Which stats do you prioritize?

  1. Intelligence — your primary stat: it scales wand/staff damage, healing and mana pool (triple duty)
  2. Constitution — a larger health bar for safer solo play
  3. Spirit — mana pool and regeneration so spells keep flowing
  4. A few Endurance points for blocking and Blink stamina

Which gear should mages use in 1.0?

  • Weapon: wand + shield as your default; fire and frost wands cover most enemies, shock for Scavenger-heavy zones. Staff for burst windows
  • Armor: the caster line — Apprentice → Mage/Magician → Archmage or Elder sets. In 1.0, armor adds ranks to skills, so favor pieces that boost your key nodes over small stat differences
  • Rings/amulets: Intelligence, magic damage, crit chance
  • Food: in 1.0 meals add damage — eat for damage type bonuses before boss fights

What spells should you slot?

Keep a heal channel, a single-target nuke (Fireball/Ice Bolt by enemy weakness), and an AoE (Chain Lightning or Acid Bite). With 1.0, test the new spells — Blizzard for control and the summons (Fire/Ice/Shock/Hollow Skeleton) for free damage; eternal variants are your endgame slots.

What is the combat rotation?

Blink to position → wand sustained fire → spells on grouped targets → ward-block when pressured → Blink out before you get surrounded. Maintain mid-range; never melee.

Frequently asked questions

Is mage good for solo in 1.0? Yes — arguably the best solo archetype, because kiting + Water Aura sustain covers the class’s low HP.

Wand or staff as main weapon? Wand for 90% of fights (free attacks, mana positive); staff for burst and big AoE moments.

Did 1.0 change this build vs Early Access? Yes — the tree reset, new spells exist, and gear/food mechanics changed. This order reflects post-reset routing; node positions may be tuned in future patches.
